7 Steps for Perfect SHARPS Photos Anytime - with any lens!
The fact is that you do not own the beach, and should not expect people to give up what they are doing to accommodate you. You are not more important than them in any manners. If you want people to not get into your frame, go earlier.
You have a very poor understanding of common sense and how a large group shoul behave in relation to others
I bought a car like yours in the same colour about three weeks ago and I’m totally happy with it! 🥰👍
6 mistakes to avoid: 1. Overexpose in harsh light 2. Underexpose in low light 3. Ignore white balance 4. Not paying attention to shadow 5. Not expose for light 6. Not place subject in the light.
May I ask what metering mode did you use to make a moody look? Did you need to use spot metering? Usually matrix metering would even out the light condition and the look is flat.
This guy baits animals. Do your research. He's a fraud!!!
I owned the Canon 24-105 mm f4 version 1 twice and both of them broke down (aperture cable). They don't deserve the L tag ! I'm considering the sigma art now.
I took the same picture with a fuji X-E1 and a fuji X-A5. E1 is 16 mp and A5 is 24 mp. The E1 photo was nice and clean and the A5 photo was very mushy and full of noise. In fact the E1 photo had a lot more details in the shadows. And in the A5 photo the highlights was blown out. I find I am pushed towards using older cameras with low pixel counts like eos 5D mark 1 and 20D and its confusing.
What happens to resolution when panoramas are done by the camera?
Thank you so much
Νιce! I use the same 3 fingers beforevand after a panorama sequence (and some other finger signs if its a focus stack or exposure bracket sequence).
Whats your camera?❤
Great points. Thank you.
what was that tripod head you showed?
It's from Fotopro, the TH-1M. It came with the tripod T1 Plus
The most important tip is the one that you did not mention: Rotate about the nodal point of the lens to avoid parallax errors. This point is the entry pupil of the lens and is best determine experimentally. A nodal mount is required. This is a simple extension that moves the camera back so that the nodal point is over the tripod's rotation point.
If you go above 35mm or 50mm the nodal point is not that important anymore. That is why I didn't mention it. I said go above 35mm. To rotate around the nodal point you need a panoramic head. It's a very important concept but for many it creates problems of understanding and sometimes it gets in the way of the crrative process. Thanks for point it out though. It ads a lot to the information
Tilt/shift lenses are the best landscape lenses. Shots fits perfectly together, you can correct perspective and no need to turn your camera with tripod etc.
I have created stitched panoramas, cropped panoramas, and single-shot panoramas. All worked well.
Thanks! I would add keep spare batteries inside your coat and close to your body, where the batteries will stay warm.
This is a good one. Simple but crucial ... no battery, no photo 🙂👍
Great tips Tom! I just LOVE your sample shots too. Thanks for inspiring me to get out there and try this!
Thanks a lot for watching and taking the time to comment
It's only the war mongering Democrats and the military industrial complex in the USA that is keeping this useless war going! Along with idiots in the GOP
Great tips. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you Toma, for your tips. I have done a few panoramas and enjoy doing them and the final result. Your tips help to remind me of what I need to look out for.
Thank you for the comment
Toma, we both enjoy photographing trails in the forest. There are a lot of panoramas of grand views outside of the forest. I like the idea of doing a panorama inside the forest and including a trail. I hope you will discuss this in more detail in the future. I'm curious how you handle getting everything in focus when you have plants and trees that are very close and will be included in the panorama. Can you also do a panorama with your camera close to the ground? Also, what do you think are the best sizes for panoramas?
I like to do panoramas of 5 shots, although 6 would make a wider view that is a classic panorama. I tried to do a panorama close to the ground but I didn't stiched it yet to see how it looks. Because the focal length is higher than 35mm (often above 50mm) the planta cloae to me are not in the frame
Do you use Adobe products to do your stitching or another program not Adobe based?
I use Lightroom Classic
I only recently discovered Michael Kenna, and was immediately smitten. A point he emphasizes in many of his interviews is how helpful it is to study the work of other photographers, to the degree that he has gone to the locations used by some of his favorites, immersing himself fully in their oeuvre. Very much like what you're doing in your "Learn From Other Artists" series. I stumbled on this one while searching Michael Kenna. I'll now move on to the next! Thank you for your analysis of Michael's approach. A good distillation.
Hi. It my first visit to your channel and I really enjoyed your video. I’ve subscribed and look forward to watching many more 👍🏼
It looks like you took an otherwise boring shot and made it magic with post-processing. If you could do a video on that, it would be helpful. It looks like you did heavy vignetting and cranked up the contrast. Thanks for your videos!
Excellent tips so thanks! One thing I took away from your photos is that even the examples of when NOT to convert to B&W still looked awesome. Looking forward to your other videos. I find that photography in the forest is the most challenging subject matter. Mine forest shots all look boring but granted, catching the forest on a foggy day is no simple task for the hobby photographer.
very wholesome video
Wow, those fern pictures are beautiful
Excellent subject matter and great examples!
🌺🌻🌺 As you and others have said before, take the time to figure out what ones eye is actually catching within the whole of what your eye is seeing.... or something like that. I miss it often but thanks to cropping within software I can train myself to see what I was seeing and not all that my eye saw.
Great video and helpful advice. I made a video from a hike in a forest in sunlight and though the conditions were difficult 👍
Could be interesting but disturbing music in background
Thanks for the feedback 👍
Outstanding tips sir. I just purchased a Sony 16mm wide angle lens and I am looking forward to utilizing it's unique qualities.
OK, I have lived here forever... there are no "grand vistas", nothing exceptional and nothing much of interest. I've been all over my area in my 70 plus years. While I do take pictures where I can but its not much fun. Not very compelling views. hum drum to say the least. Oh well. carry on. Good video. Great points and made me think differently so maybe I can do better with my black and white next outing.
Wow Tom, awesome website with great looking tours! Thanks for the video.
Wonderful and inspiring😊
Hi Tomas, I have followed you from the beginning and always loved your videos... It is so sad to see the number of views staying low, I'm sure it would be higher if you were based in the UK. Have a good week
enjoying this ( thank you), until you suggested photo stacking = cheating / dishonest that what AIs do, they are false. If we do that, lets give the whole thing to a tin box AI and take the humanity out of photography. i will use lightroom to correct weaknesses in my camera's representation of what human eyes do with the world. that's enough.Use tools to express what i thought i saw.
Do you have to use the plate??? Or is the head Arca Swiss? I use an L bracket .. don’t want a plate
I also have an L bracket. The head is Arca Swiss compatible
The extra knob on the head, just below the arca Swiss clamp looks like it is for panoramas. No need for a levelling plate/ball, just get the camera level using the ball head , lock it tight. Then pan the camera around by loosening that extra knob. Or perhaps it’s designed for another purpose?
I didn't use it yet. For me it serves the same function as the rotation of the head
Thank you... and just in case I miss you not using it ever again, feel free to point that out somehow or in some way. Note: I am indeed in the market for a new tripod, but have been considering a geared head over a ball head. Sure... weight... but.
Thanks for this. It was inspiring. 🖤🤍
Wonderful video learnt a lot .Keep them coming .
I like the shot at 5:23. Nice mood.
Thanks Toma. Our spring is just beginning and will look better in a week or two. Your video inspired me to look for the opportunity to get out and photograph.
Thank you for your videos, I really enjoy them. You take nice photos as well. If you spend good time alone in the woods it is impossible to not fall in love…
Great photos
Very nice. Spring comes to sudden 🙂👍
Great video!
